What a seroma is
A SEROMA is an excessive build-up of fluid trapped in the tissues after liposuction or a tummy tuck. It usually shows up as a lump or bulge near an incision or anywhere in the treated area and can feel soft, fluctuant, or tense depending on how long it has been present.
Seromas often appear soon after surgery and are part of the early healing period. Because they form from pooled lymphatic and surgical fluids, timely management matters; untreated pockets can cause discomfort, tightness, or interfere with compression garments and normal recovery routines.
Our aspiration and massage method
At Body Sculpt Studios our SEROMA aspiration procedure pairs manual lymphatic drainage with targeted aspiration. The lymphatic massage first moves trapped fluid through soft, directed strokes toward the seroma site so the pocket is easier to access. Once fluid is mobilized, aspiration is performed to remove the concentrated collection while minimizing disruption to surrounding tissue.
Treatments are scheduled as focused 60 minutes sessions and are priced at $250. We see increased demand in January, April, May and December when many patients return home from surgery; plan appointments early when you know your surgery date to secure the best slots.
Aftercare and recovery guidance
After a combined massage and aspiration you may notice reduced tightness and less visible swelling, though responses vary. Therapists provide practical aftercare: hydration guidance, positioning tips, and advice about compression garments. Many clients report feeling lighter and more mobile after a session, and therapists explain when to seek surgical follow-up if fluid reaccumulates.
