Get answers to common questions about SEROMA DRAINAGE with Lymphatic Massage.
This combined treatment uses targeted lymphatic drainage to mobilize trapped postoperative fluid toward the seroma, followed by careful aspiration to remove the collection. It reduces swelling, relieves pressure, and promotes healing while minimizing tissue trauma and recurrence risk when performed by experienced clinicians.
Contact us promptly if you notice lumps, bulging, increased swelling, or persistent drainage following liposuction or tummy tuck. Early evaluation allows lymphatic massage and aspiration to be more effective and reduces complications such as infection or prolonged fluid retention.
Most clients experience minimal discomfort; lymphatic massage is gentle and soothing. Aspiration involves a fine needle and local anesthesia when needed. Skilled practitioners focus on patient comfort, monitoring sensations and adjusting technique to minimize pain and anxiety.
Sessions typically last 30–60 minutes depending on seroma size and treatment complexity. Lymphatic massage to mobilize fluid may precede aspiration, and follow-up appointments can be scheduled to reassess and repeat drainage if necessary until swelling resolves.
Risks are low but can include minor bruising, transient soreness, bleeding, or very rarely infection. We use sterile technique and careful monitoring to minimize complications; follow post-care instructions and contact us immediately if you notice fever, increased redness, or worsening pain.
Some seromas resolve after a single combined session, while others need repeat drainage and massage over several weeks. Treatment frequency depends on fluid recurrence, response to therapy, and surgical factors; we create individualized plans to achieve lasting resolution.
