Most clients feel minimal discomfort. We use gentle technique, topical anesthetic when appropriate, and an experienced clinician to reduce pain. Lymphatic massage is soothing and comfortable; if you have concerns, we customize pressure and pacing for your comfort.
The visit usually lasts 30–60 minutes, including assessment, careful drain or stitch removal, wound care guidance, and a focused lymphatic massage targeting swelling. Exact time depends on wound complexity and the amount of massage needed for optimal recovery.
We recommend scheduling after your surgeon approves removal; typical timing ranges from five to fourteen days depending on the procedure and healing. We always coordinate with your surgical team and assess the incision and drainage before performing removal and massage.
Contraindications include active infection at the incision site, uncontrolled bleeding, fever, suspected DVT, or any condition your surgeon advises against. We perform a pre-treatment assessment and will defer or modify care if safety concerns arise, coordinating with your provider.
Bring your photo ID, surgeon discharge paperwork or clearance, a list of medications, comfortable loose clothing, and any prescribed post-op garments. Arrange a ride if sedation or mobility limitations exist. Inform us of allergies and prior complications before treatment.
You may notice immediate reduction in tightness and early swelling within the first 24–48 hours; lymphatic massage continues to improve fluid movement over several days. Most clients see ongoing improvement over one to two weeks with proper home care.
