How the technique works
Seroma is localized post-surgical fluid accumulation that can slow recovery. This session combines a focused seroma drainage approach with therapeutic lymphatic massage techniques to encourage the body's natural reabsorption and drainage pathways. Therapists use gentle, directed manual strokes to move fluid toward working lymph nodes while monitoring comfort and tissue response throughout the treatment.
Before hands-on work begins, we assess the surgical area, mobility and any scar tissue to set a safe plan. Treatment is measured and conservative: rhythmic superficial strokes, targeted decongestive sequences, and ongoing client feedback. Therapists may recommend supportive measures and will coordinate advice with your surgeon if professional medical input is needed.
Central Harlem appointment logistics
Body Sculpt Studios is located in Central Harlem, a short subway or bus ride from Midtown, Upper West and Washington Heights—convenient for after-work visits. The clinic sits near cultural landmarks like the Apollo Theater and the Schomburg Center, so clients often schedule sessions before or after local events. Evening and weekend slots are useful for commuters and caregivers.
Demand rises in certain months—January, February, November and December—which align with higher cosmetic-surgery recovery times around holidays and New Year. New York's seasonal climate (cold winters, hot summers) can influence swelling and comfort, so book early if you expect post-op needs during those peak recovery windows.
Aftercare and follow-up
After the session we review home strategies that support drainage: adequate hydration, gentle walking and following your surgeon's post-op instructions. Clients are advised to monitor the area for increased pain, redness, or changes and to contact their surgeon if those occur. The therapist documents observations to inform subsequent care and builds a follow-up plan with you.
This single session costs $250 and lasts 60 MINUTES. While some clients purchase multi-session packages for ongoing management, many report noticeable reductions in swelling, lighter limbs and improved comfort after treatments here. If ongoing care is appropriate, your therapist will outline options and coordination with your medical provider.
