How Wood Therapy Works
Wood therapy uses hand-held carved wooden tools and targeted, rhythmic strokes to mobilize soft tissue. In our sessions the therapist applies contouring motions along the waist and face to encourage circulation, assist lymph movement, and mechanically smooth areas of fat and connective tissue. These mechanical actions combine with manual pressure to create immediate contouring sensations without energy-based devices.
Expect a focused 60 MINUTES treatment that mixes firm strokes, lifts, and targeted facial work depending on goals. Wood therapy is used alongside post-op care to support contouring after liposuction but is not a substitute for surgical advice; discuss timing with your surgeon. CHADEE sessions are offered in morning appointments only and may require early booking.
Session Structure and Timing
Each session runs exactly 60 MINUTES and the listed single-session price is $550. The CHADEE three-session package referenced in the service name applies to morning appointments and offers bundled savings; please verify availability and package details when booking. Because many clients commute across Manhattan, we recommend early-morning or weekend slots to fit transit schedules and errands.
Before your visit hydrate well and arrive in comfortable, loose clothing that allows access to treated areas. We review surgical history and medications at check-in so therapists can adapt pressure. If you have recent open wounds, active infection, or recent major surgery, mention it during booking so staff can advise on appropriate timing and safety.
Booking and Local Logistics
Our studio in Central Harlem sits near the Apollo Theater and the 125th Street corridor, making it easy to combine an appointment with nearby events or shopping. It's a quick subway or bus ride from the Upper West Side, Midtown and Washington Heights; plan travel time accordingly, especially for morning CHADEE bookings that are only available before noon.
We regularly serve clients from Morningside Heights, the Upper East and Upper West Sides, Hamilton Heights and Mott Haven. New York's hot, humid summers and cold winters affect comfort after treatment; book seasonally if you prefer walking home post-session, or choose weekend times to avoid crowded transit after appointments.
